Pakistanis are reeling from shock and disbelief over news of Junaid Jamshed's death in the Pakistan International Airlines flight PK661 which crashed into a mountainside on Wednesday.

The renowned pop star turned evangelical Muslim cleric icon and his wife Aisha Junaid were among passengers aboard the ill-fated craft. Jamshed came to fame in Pakistan in the 1980s and 1990s as the singer for the Vital Signs rock group, and later launched a solo career, with a string of chart-topping albums and hits.
