Legendary Nigerian musician, Majek Fashek has exclusively revealed why he choose to identify more with his mothers lineage rather than his father.
Majek who was born to a Yoruba father and an Edo Princess mum spoke to LIB saying, 'I choose to identify more with my mum because my mother was a Princess in Edo and she was more discipline than my father. My father was a player so to an extent I respected my mother mum. My mum even bought me my first guitar and I can proudly say she showed me the way'.
Then he went on to say, 'as a princess in the palace my mum used to be part of the many rituals they do and she even had a shrine called 'Olokun Shrine', but she later converted to Christianity and we started going to a white garment church where I started singing and playing the guitar'.
