Following the attack vented on popular Yoruba musician over the weekend in Ondo state, the versatile artiste has been reportedly hospitalized.
It will be recalled that the music act had on Saturday, performed at the burial ceremony of an 85-year-old woman, one Madam Ebunoluwa Lydia Odumakinde, at Odo Oja Street in the town, where he reportedly got N3m for the performance. However, hoodlums launched an attack on him for allegedly refusing to settle the ‘area boys.’
According to reports, about 15 persons were wounded as the hoodlums attacked those invited.
Reports, however, revealed that Ayefele sustained injuries from the attack and had since been hospitalized in an unidentified hospital.
A press statement from Ayefele’s management signed by his publicist, Mr. David Ajiboye, following his attack was issued to newsmen in the state.
According to the statement, the ‘Tungba’ crooner was hit with a plank on his chest during the attack.
The statement reads in part:
“The hoodlums, after collecting N200, 000 from the artiste as ‘settlement’ later demanded for a sum of N500, 000 which did not go down well with Ayefele and in the process of the argument, he was hit on the chest by a plank which was thrown at him.
“The hoodlums vandalized the newly acquired musical equipment and the truck while his new Ford Explorer 2015 model SUV was also vandalized, as well.
“The band boys escaped unhurt contrary to reports in the media that they were beating,” the statement read.
