A MAN claiming he met a Yeti who told him he would die soon was so terrified he set himself on fire.
The frightened man committed suicide by lighting petrol that he had doused over his clothes.
He said he met the mystical creature, also known as the Abominable Snowman and Bigfoot, in the Taiga Forest.
The incident happened in the village of Malyy Manok, in the Republic of Khakassia, Russia.
Yetis are ape-like creatures said to inhabit the Himalayan region of Nepal, India and Tibet.
The first publicised report of a Yeti sighting came from a German photographer in 1925, but many Nepalese claim to have seen it.
