ONE Direction made the dreams of a poorly little girl come true on Saturday night when they invited her backstage to meet the band.
Georgia Edwards, from Wrexham, Wales, was ecstatic to meet the 1D boys after their gig in Manchester.
The five-year-old mingled backstage with Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne and Niall Horan and had cuddles and photos with them.
The family posted on Facebook and Twitter pleading for the boys to meet her before their year-long break and luckily the pleas were spotted by Louis’ mum.
Georgia’s mum, Katie, told Daily Post: “Georgia had such an amazing time, she’s still on a high, she absolutely loved it from start to finish.
“She got to hang out backstage with the band and their families before the gig and had plenty of cuddles and photographs."
Tragically, the brave girl is battling Rett Syndrome, a devastating neurological disorder, which has left her serverely disabled.
The syndrome has robbed Georgia of the ability to walk, talk and use her hands as her body stops obeying signals from the brain.
Johannah Deakin, Louis' mum, was so touched by the posts that she messaged Katie saying the band would like to invite Georgia to meet them.
Katie added: “Georgia was so excited she couldn’t sleep in the days leading up to the gig.”
While backstage Georgia also got to meet a number of other celebs, including cricket star Freddie Flintoff, ex-footballer Paul Bikoff and Coleen Rooney.
Katie said: “When we got backstage, everyone was so lovely and it was really nice that Coleen Rooney took such a big interest in her after losing her own sister to Rett Syndrome.
“Georgia and her big brother, Charlie gave the band some little gifts to thank them.
“Seeing the joy on Georgia’s face was a moment I will never forget.
“We are just so happy that her dream came true, and we believe that is mainly down to the Daily Post hashtag #Georgies1Dwish. To everyone who made it happen, we can’t thank you enough.”
