SHERRIE Hewson revealed today how she ignored a lump she found in her breast to go into the Celebrity Big Brother House.
The 65-year-old Loose Women star broke down on live television when talking about her cancer scare just days before her spell in the infamous Big Brother House, and said she was “stupid” to have kept it to herself.
The former Coronation star said: “I had a lump a few years ago, but only a few weeks ago, which I’ve never told anybody, I found another one.
“It was me who found it, I didn’t tell anybody, I went to hospital, but I was going into the Big Brother house and I didn’t want to say anything because obviously I’m working and I have to earn, I’m the only bread winner in the family.”
The star, who finished sixth in this year’s CBB, emotionally described how she eventually got the lump checked but fortunately it was nothing more than a cyst.

Sherrie then urged other women to not act irresponsibly like she did and put your “head in the sand.”
She said: “It was the most stupid thing I have ever done in my life. So if anybody’s listening, please don’t do what I did.”
The TV presenter was confessing all on a special episode of Loose Women to mark Breast Cancer
Awareness Month, which featured an audience of breast cancers survivors and their family.
