A Magistrate Court sitting in Dutse, the Jigawa state capital, has granted former governor of the state, Sule Lamido, bail on self recognition. Lamido was arrested last Sunday and arraigned in court yesterday, for allegedly inciting his supporters to disrupt the July 1st local government chairman election in the state.
The court had on Tuesday May 2nd, ordered Lamido be remanded in court pending hearing of his bail application. The presiding magistrate this morning ruled that his bail application be approved since the offence he is accused of is bailable. 

Meanwhile there was wild jubilation in the state by his supporters after his bail application was approved. See photos of them jubilating, below...
