EXCLUSIVE: England star feared for wife and daughter’s lives during £175k robbery
ENGLAND’S Tom Cleverley feared for the lives of his wife and young daughter after armed robbers smashed their way into the family’s home in a terrifying £175,000 raid.
The Everton midfielder was relaxing at the gated £3.5million mansion with Towie star missus Georgina Dorsett and two-year-old Nevaeh Rose when the thieves broke in.
Two thugs wielding a baseball bat and an extendable cosh arrived just after nightfall and demanded to know where the couple stashed their luxury items.
Tom, 26, and Georgina, 29, cowered together as the raiders got away with a £15,000 Cartier bracelet, a £10,000 Hermes Birkin handbag and an Audemars Piguet watch worth £50,000.
The robbers then demanded the keys to the couple’s two Range Rovers before speeding off in one valued at around £100,000.
Last night a source said: “Tom and Georgina weren’t physically hurt but it was a horrific ordeal — especially as their little girl was with them. The only thing in their minds was protecting her.
“This was a very, very nasty incident and the couple have been shaken beyond belief.
“They tend to keep a low profile, but it’s obvious they have been targeted due to their wealth.”
Georgina, who wed Tom in June, has told pals she wants to leave the home near Manchester.
The source said: “Georgina is properly spooked.
“She’s furious that a bunch of scumbags could do this to her family, but she’s taking no chances and wants out.
“It’s an exclusive area. Everyone will be reviewing their security after this nightmare.”
Two players at Tom’s old club Man Utd have also been recently targeted by raiders.
Six weeks ago reserve goalie Sam Johnstone was robbed of his £40,000 Mercedes A Class AMG by thieves who entered his home and stole the keys.
Cops believe that raid was timed to coincide with the 22-year-old’s trip to Belgium for a Champions League tie.
Eight months ago ex-Red Devil Angel Di Maria endured a terrifying episode at his home — eight miles from Tom’s luxury pad.
Three raiders used scaffolding poles in an attempt to break in, but fled empty-handed as alarms sounded.
Shocked Di Maria and wife Jorgelina Cardoso fled to a hotel with their daughter Mia.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said of last Friday’s raid on Tom’s home: “Police were called following a report of a break-in.
“None of the victims were injured. An investigation is ongoing.”
