England legend ‘bombarded former flame with abusive tweets’
TROUBLED Paul Gascoigne has been charged with harassing his ex-girlfriend in a string of abusive tweets.
The former England hero is also accused of bombarding Amanda Thomas with texts and phone calls.
Gazza had been in a relationship with the married mum of two last year and she was helping him with his drinking demons.
But after they split it is said he sent her the messages and phoned her repeatedly over a fortnight in March.
The ex-Tottenham and Lazio star, 48, did not appear before Bournemouth JPs.
He is also charged with harassing photographer Andy Stone.
The first charge alleges that between March 9 and March 22 this year he “pursued a course of conduct which amounted to the harassment of Amanda Thomas and which he knew or ought to have known amounted to the harassment of her in that he sent abusive tweets via Twitter, telephone calls and text messages”.

In the second charge he is accused of a similar offence against the snapper.
The alleged offences are contrary to the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.
He is set to attend the next hearing on October 29.
