Victor Moses
West Ham United winger Victor Moses has pulled out of the Super Eagles’ friendly matches against DR Congo and Cameroon in Belgium on Thursday and Sunday respectively.

Moses informed the Nigeria Football Federation in a letter on Sunday that he had decided to withdraw from the encounters to avoid injury.

The on-loan Chelsea player is the second invitee to pull out of the friendlies. Turkey-based defender Kenneth Omeruo last week withdrew from the clashes. He has since been replaced by Celtic defender Efe Ambrose.

Nigeria coach Sunday Oliseh, who expressed his disappointment over the developments, said the team would perform without Moses and Omeruo.

“We have no choice now but to work with the other players who are available. The fact that the other batch of players from home were not issued their visas last week is also setting us back because we would really want to take advantage of the time to put in a lot of work,” Oliseh was quoted as saying in a statement from the NFF.

Meanwhile, Omeruo’s club, Kasimpasa, have confirmed the player will be out for just two weeks, allaying fears that the injury could keep the defender out for a long time.
