X Factor hopeful Chloe Baker has been viciously assaulted during a night out.
The 21-year-old dance teacher, from Liverpool, posted a selfie from hospital after the attack, showing her black eyes and bruised face.
In the post she described her attacker as a ‘monster’ and alleged that it was a jealous male friend that she had known for years.
She said: “Wasn’t going to do this but I am because I’m truly sickened to my stomach and believe people need to know that this boy is a monster.”
A friend of Chloe’s told the Sunday People: “Sadly one of Chloe’s former friends couldn’t cope with seeing her on The X Factor and became very violent.
“Chloe was enjoying a night out with a group of her closest friends when this guy saw her and approached.
“He managed to get her into his car and she was attacked.
“It’s put a real dampener on what has been a lovely experience for her. She’s very proud of how well she did on the show and didn’t deserve this.”
The assault is reported to have happened last Saturday and Chloe spent the next day in hospital.
That night, on Sunday’s Six Chair Challenge show, X Factor viewers saw Chloe narrowly exit the competition after singing after singing Candi Staton’s You’ve Got The Love.
Girls’ mentor Rita Ora gave her a seat, then later replaced her with 17-year-old Louisa Johnson.
Later in the week Chloe posted the message: “You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.”
Police have confirmed they are investigating the incident.
