A WOMAN driver has been charged with drink-driving after her car crashed through a fence and plunged 30ft onto a busy railway into the path of an oncoming train.

Incredibly the vehicle only came to a halt when its bonnet smashed into the rock-filled side of the track 1ft short of the rails. The oncoming train was able to stop before hitting the car.

 The young motorist, of Wolverhampton, West Mids., will appear at Redditch Magistrates Court later this month.

The accident happened just before 10pm On Sunday.
