THE boyfriend of singer Annie Lennox’s daughter had taken drugs before he drowned kayaking.
Ian Jones, 32, had traces of MDMA — a pure form of ecstasy — in his body.
The photographer lover of 22-year-old Tali Lennox was also twice the drink-drive limit when his body was recovered from a US river.
A police report reveals the couple had stayed up partying all night and watched the sunrise before deciding to go kayaking at 9am.
The craft capsized and the couple were plunged into the Hudson River without any lifejackets.
The report, released under a Freedom of Information request, said Tali was “noticeably impaired by
alcohol” when she was rescued by a passing boat.
Ian had battled drug problems and was said to have been clean for four years.
But an autopsy showed he had taken an ”average” dose of MDMA. His death was ruled an accident.
Tali — who called Ian her “soul mate” — had been staying at the estate of millionaire Andre Balasz, 58, in Staatsburg, New York.
