Stars have been warned to use sprays in emergency kits to get rid of leeches
Female contestants, including radio host Lisa Snowdon, 44, dancer Ola Jordan, 34, and Gogglebox star Scarlett Moffatt, 26, are particularly at threat due to their menstrual cycle.
Show medic Dr Bob McCarron said: “They are attracted to the time of the month and they’re attracted to heat. If it’s the time of the month they will seek out the nearest blood supply. We get camera crew finding them in their belly buttons.”
The leeches, which suck blood from humans, can cause infections if not removed properly.

Bob added: “What they like to do on the celebrities is crawl into their socks and they do not even know it. If they walk in the rain they need to check themselves. In the first aid kit they have their own vinegar spray. Once you spray it they die.”
The celebs are also now on alert for dangerous snakes too after one was found in camp over the weekend.

I'm A Celebrity stars in danger as poisonous snake found in camp
Crew found a brown tree snake, an aggressive breed with a venomous bite, next to the jacuzzi used in the Rancid Retreat punishment for the losing team in the Hungry Games Bushtucker Trial.
Bob said: “A lot of the crew don’t even know this, but yesterday when half of the celeb team left their jacuzzi, we actually found a brown tree snake, which is venomous, in that part of the camp. We removed it about 30 minutes after they left.”
When quizzed by Extra Camp host Vicky Pattison, 29, about how dangerous it was, Bob admitted: “It’s enough to put you in a hospital, it’s not a deadly one, but we’ve found plenty of deadly ones in the last week too.”
