I’M A Celebrity’s Wayne Bridge has been praised after refusing to address his famous fall-out with John Terry in the jungle.
The star managed to avoid questions on “footballers he doesn’t like”, and now Twitter users have congratulated him for ignoring allegations Terry had cheated with his ex Vanessa Perroncel.
When asked about footballers he “doesn’t like”, Wayne simply replied: “You don’t get on with everybody.”
“Footballers aren’t all d****,” he added, before saying: ‘There are a couple of people I might not have liked but you don’t get on with everyone.
“I got on really well with Shaun Wright-Phillips, Micah Richards… I get on well with Scott Parker.”
“I got on really well with Shaun Wright-Phillips, Micah Richards… I get on well with Scott Parker.”
Fans immediately began praising Wayne online for the quick aversion, and congratulated him for handling it in such a mature fashion.
One even wrote: “Watching how sweet and kind @WayneBridge is……just makes me hate John Terry even more!”
Meanwhile fellow campmate Joel Dommett heaped praise on the star, admitting he has “destroyed” the footballer “stereotype”, adding: “He is a wonderful human being.”
And more Twitter users echoed his thoughts, as one wrote: “Watching I’m A Celeb and Wayne Bridge is asked who he got on with while playing. We all know who he couldn’t trust.”
While another added: “Come on @WayneBridge dish the dirt on john terry.”
And one wrote: “Watching how much of a good guy Wayne Bridge is on I’m a celeb makes me hate John Terry even more.”
Wayne was caught up in a national scandal after claims emerged that his ex Vanessa enjoyed an illicit relationship with his ex-Chelsea team mate Terry – married to childhood sweetheart Toni – shortly after they split.
The betrayal captivated the nation, and was the subject of a high court order as Terry tried to block details of his alleged antics becoming public knowledge.
Wayne has kept a dignified silence about his girlfriend’s alleged fling – but ITV bigwigs are hoping that boredom and a few emotional chats between the homesick contestants might see him open up about what went on.
A show insider told The Sun previously: “Wayne never really sought fame when he was a footballer so it’s surprising he agreed to go in the jungle.
“But ITV believe they’ve made a real coup getting him on board as he’s never discussed the John Terry scandal before.
“They’re secretly hoping the subject crops up during while the celebs talk endlessly around the camp fire to pass time.”
