SUBSTITUTIONS for online grocery shopping can be pretty random and getting something you didn’t order can be annoying.
But one shopper was left totally bemused after ordering pantyliners from Tesco – and being given a bizarre suggestion for what he should buy instead.

Yep, doggy dental chews.
Pedigree Dentaflex are treats for pooches which clean their teeth as they eat.
The mind boggles.
Tesco told the confused customer to reinstall the app, but that still didn’t fix the problem.
A spokesperson for Tesco said: “On the rare occasion that a customer’s chosen product is unavailable, we like to suggest an alternative.
“We have corrected the error that led to this substitution being suggested.”
It’s not the first time something totally unsuitable has cropped up as an online alternative.
One customer posted their suggestion for a replacement for a packet of cherry flavoured Strepsils –  some Durex lube.
But at least it was cherry flavoured.
Tesco customer Fiona wasn’t happy with her meaty pizza.
She wrote: “If I order a vegetarian pizza, with vegetables on it, the chances are I do *not* want a BBQ chicken pizza as a substitution…
Another lady was sent an e-cigarette instead of a chapstick.
And this one was a corker…
