Kelly was brought on board to bring glamour to the series, but has already been dropped in the latest of a string of high-profile failures
Kelly Brook has been axed from ITV’s Countrywise before she even made it to the screen.
The show, ITV’s lacklustre equivalent of the BBC‘s hugely popular Countryfile, had signed up the former Big Breakfast host to provide some glamour to the new series and boost their audience.
Countrywise, intended as a competitor to BBC’s popular Countryfile, invited Kelly on to talk about issues relating to the countryside, but she has been dropped before filming even began
A source said: “Countrywise wanted to inject some fresh blood into the show by including some high-profile guests and Kelly was one they had in mind.
“But viewers won’t be seeing Kelly in her wellies anytime soon as the idea has now been canned and she’s been replaced.
“They’d hoped she would inject some much-needed glamour into the show to take on Countryfile in the ratings.”
She admits she doesn’t have a good track record with TV, as shows like US sitcom One Big Happy have also folded
It is the latest high-profile failure for the former model, who has previously been dropped as Britain’s Got Talent judge, Big Breakfast host and from US TV series One Big Happy.
Last week Kelly admitted to having a terrible track record in the TV business, conceding: “Everything kind of comes to an end with me”.
An ITV spokeswoman said yesterday: “We plan to feature a range of people across the course of the series who will offer their own unique and authentic perspective on their love for the countryside.”
